I have been very lucky in getting my automotive blog off the ground this year and have been overjoyed to have had the chance to drive the cars I have.
So here is a recap of the favourites;
Having driven the 996 Turbo S with 450 bhp earlier in the year, the jump to 560 bhp and the introduction of an active rear axle and a sublime dual clutch transmission have earned this car the No. 1 spot.
I was absolutely gobsmacked at the performance of this car. It accelerated like nothing I had experienced before and handled so well thanks to the all-wheel drive system keeping the light front end planted to the tarmac. It was also the first car I had driven with carbon ceramic brakes.
I drove both the optional Performance Pack with DSG gearbox and the six speed manual car without the Performance Pack. I had more fun in the standard manual car as I found it more enjoyable to drive, even though the DSG ‘box is absolutely fantastic.
Bad winter weather and RS Audi’s. Is there a better combination? The noise from the 450 bhp naturally aspirated 4.2 litre V8 is fabulously intoxicating.
My friend’s Alfa was a very pleasant surprise. Something a bit different from the Reanultsport Clio thanks to the Italian flair. Engine comes to life in Dynamic mode and sounds good too. Great little car!
