Adam Simson likes the look of the new Mazda MX-5
Mazda have just recently unveiled the new MX-5, the roadster so many petrol-heads lust after. Doesn’t it look great? Albeit a little grown up, and very much resembling the current BMW Z4. It is due to go on sale in Europe in 2015.
SKYACTIV technology is at the heart of the all-new MX-5, with specially tuned SKYACTIV-G petrol engines to choose from and the first ever rear-drive SKYACTIV-Chassis. The new car weighs 100kg less than its predecessor, and boasts a lower centre of gravity, and as a result, flaunts the responsiveness and agility that has always made the MX-5 an obvious choice for driving pleasure.
The fame of the Japanese, two-seater, rear-driven roadster is evident when you consider that over 947,000 cars have been produced over its 25 year life. Suffice to say, the MX-5 holds the crown in the Guinness Book of World Records as the all-time best selling two-seater sports car.
Mazda Motor Europe President and CEO said; “Built for the love of driving, this car underscores what Mazda is all about. It will certainly give our brand an added boost.”
It’s refreshing to see a manual gear stick on the transmission tunnel…
